Peer Review Process
Peer-Review Process
Digitus: Journal of Computer Science Applications follows a rigorous and transparent review process to ensure the quality and credibility of the published articles. The journal adopts a double-blind (double-anonymous) peer-review type, where the identities of both the authors and reviewers are kept anonymous during the review process.
Submission and Initial Evaluation
All manuscripts submitted to Digitus: Journal of Computer Science Applications undergo an initial evaluation by the editorial team to assess their suitability and compliance with the journal's scope and guidelines. Manuscripts that pass the initial evaluation are assigned to a subject-specific handling editor for further processing.
Peer Review
Each eligible manuscript is sent for review to a minimum of two independent expert reviewers in the relevant field. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, experience, and prior contributions to the subject matter. In cases where conflicting opinions arise, additional reviewers may be engaged to provide a comprehensive evaluation.
Double-Blind Review
The journal ensures that the peer-review process is conducted in a double-blind manner, where neither the authors nor the reviewers are aware of each other’s identities. This process is designed to maintain objectivity and eliminate biases in manuscript evaluations.
Review Criteria
Reviewers assess manuscripts based on:
- Originality: The novelty and significance of the research.
- Scientific Rigor: The robustness of the methodology and analysis.
- Relevance: Alignment with the journal’s scope and audience.
- Clarity: The quality of writing and logical flow of arguments.
- Ethical Compliance: Adherence to ethical standards in research and publication.
Constructive feedback and suggestions are encouraged to help authors enhance their manuscripts.
Review Duration
Reviewers are typically given a specific timeframe, usually 3–4 weeks, to complete their evaluations. Authors are informed of the estimated review duration during the submission process.
Decision and Revision
Upon completion of the review:
- Decisions may include Acceptance, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, or Rejection.
- Authors of manuscripts requiring revisions are given 3–4 weeks (minor) or 6–8 weeks (major) to address reviewers' comments. Revised manuscripts are reassessed by the handling editor and, if necessary, the original reviewers.
Final Decision
The final decision regarding publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief, considering the reviewers’ feedback and recommendations from the handling editor. Manuscripts that meet the journal’s standards are approved for publication.
Confidentiality
Digitus: Journal of Computer Science Applications maintains strict confidentiality throughout the review process. All manuscript details and reviewer feedback are handled securely and not disclosed to unauthorized parties.
Continuous Improvement
The journal is committed to continuously refining its peer review system. Feedback from authors, reviewers, and editors is regularly evaluated to enhance the process's fairness, efficiency, and quality.
