Publication Ethics

Publication Ethics

At Communica: Journal of Communication, we are steadfastly devoted to preserving the highest ethical standards in publication and actively preventing all forms of scholarly misconduct. Our Editorial Board bears this responsibility with utmost seriousness. Unethical behavior is not tolerated under any circumstances. We mandate that all editors, authors, and reviewers adhere to exemplary publication practices, as outlined in the COPE Code of Conduct for Journal Editors. The full guidelines are accessible on the COPE website as part of our Core Practices.

Authors and Contributors

  1. Authorship : All authors are presumed to have consented to the manuscript's content and submission process, including acquiring necessary institutional permissions.
  2. Disclosure Requirements: Authors must divulge information on funding, potential conflicts of interest, and ethical approvals.
  3. Corresponding Author Duties: This individual coordinates approvals, manages journal communications, and ensures material usage transparency.
  4. Contribution Transparency: We publish contribution statements with each manuscript.
  5. Institutional Affiliation: The primary affiliation should reflect where the research was conducted and remains unchangeable post-publication.
  6. Authorship Alterations: Changes to the author list post-submission require approval from all involved parties.
  7. Author Identification: ORCID IDs are recommended for manuscript submission.
  8. Deceased or Incapacitated Co-authors: Inclusion decisions require approval from a legal representative.
  9. Communication Confidentiality: All journal correspondence is considered confidential unless explicitly stated otherwise.
  10. Authorship Disputes: Authors must resolve such issues independently.
  11. AI-Generated Content: Use of AI tools must be clearly described in research methods.
  12. Post-Publication Name Changes: We discreetly update metadata to protect author privacy.
  13. Journal Staff as Authors: They are excluded from editorial decisions on their own manuscripts.
  14. Author Ethical Responsibilities: Scientific integrity must be maintained, and rejection decisions respected.
  15. Error Correction: Authors are obligated to rectify significant errors upon discovery.
  16. Reviewer Suggestions: Authors may propose independent reviewers with appropriate contact information.
