Publication Ethics
Intellecta: Journal of Artificial Intelligence is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and actively preventing all forms of publication malpractice. Our Editorial Board takes this responsibility seriously and will not tolerate any unethical behavior. We require all editors, authors, and reviewers to adhere to good publication practices, following the COPE Code of Conduct for Journal Editors. Authors and Contributors
- Authorship Definition: Authors are considered to have agreed to the content and submission process, including obtaining necessary permissions.
- Disclosure Requirements: Authors must provide information on funding, interests, and ethical approvals.
- Corresponding Author Duties: This author manages approvals, communications, and ensures transparency.
- Contribution Transparency: We publish author contribution statements in each manuscript.
- Affiliation Policy: The primary affiliation should reflect where the research was conducted.
- Authorship Changes: Changes after submission require approval from all authors. No changes are allowed post-acceptance.
- Author Identification: Use of ORCID ID is encouraged.
- Deceased or Incapacitated Authors: Inclusion must be approved by a legal representative.
- Confidentiality: All journal communications are considered confidential unless explicitly consented to share.
- Authorship Disputes: Authors must resolve disputes themselves. The journal may withdraw manuscripts if unresolved.
- AI-Generated Content: AI tools cannot be considered authors and their use must be transparently described.
- Post-Publication Name Changes: We update metadata without announcement to protect privacy.
- Journal Staff as Authors: Those involved in manuscript compilation are excluded from editorial decisions.
- Author Ethical Responsibilities: Authors must maintain scientific integrity and respect rejection decisions.
- Error Correction: Authors are obligated to correct significant errors upon discovery.
- Reviewer Suggestions: Authors may suggest independent reviewers with appropriate contact details.
Complaints and Appeals
- General Process: Initial complaints are handled by the Editor-in-Chief or responsible editor.
- Scientific Content Complaints: The editor assesses arguments and may seek independent opinion.
- Process Complaints: The editorial team investigates and provides feedback for improvement.
- Publication Ethics Complaints: Editors follow COPE guidelines and may seek advice in difficult cases.
Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose all interests that could potentially affect their research. This includes:
- Research Support: Mention grants or support from interested organizations.
- Employment and Affiliations: Disclose current, past, or expected employment with financial impact.
- Other Interests: Include ownership stakes, patents, and non-financial interests like editorial positions.
Post-Publication Discussion
Intellecta: Journal of Artificial Intelligence may remove articles from our online platform if:
- Content infringes legal rights.
- A court order or government directive requires removal.
- Content poses a serious health risk.
Removals may be temporary or permanent, with bibliographic metadata retained.
Reviewer Responsibilities
- Maintain confidentiality of paper information.
- Provide objective, non-personal criticism.
- Express opinions clearly with supporting arguments.
- Identify relevant uncited work.
- Report substantial similarities with other works.
- Avoid conflicts of interest in assessments.
Editor Responsibilities
- Full authority over article acceptance or rejection.
- Ensure content quality and publication integrity.
- Consider author and reader needs to improve quality.
- Base decisions on significance, originality, clarity, and relevance.
- Maintain decision consistency and reviewer confidentiality.
- Ensure ethical guidelines are met.
- Act promptly on errors or violation suspicions.
- Avoid conflicts of interest among staff, authors, reviewers, and board.
