Publication Ethics
Publication Ethics
Moneta: Journal of Economics and Finance is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and actively preventing all forms of publication malpractice. Our Editorial Board takes this responsibility seriously and will not tolerate unethical behavior. We require all editors, authors, and reviewers to follow good publication practices, in line with the COPE Code of Conduct for Journal Editors. The full guidelines can be found on the COPE website as part of our Core Practices.
Authors and Contributors
- Authorship : Each author is considered to have agreed to the content and submission process, including obtaining necessary permissions. We do not specify particular contribution types for authorship.
- Disclosure Requirements: Authors must provide information on funding, interests, and ethical approvals, including consent for human/animal research.
- Corresponding Author Duties: This author coordinates approvals, manages communications, and ensures transparency in material use.
- Contribution Statements: We publish author contribution statements in each manuscript to promote transparency.
- Affiliation Policy: The primary affiliation should reflect where the research was conducted and cannot be changed post-publication.
- Authorship Changes: Authors should confirm the author list at submission. Post-submission changes require approval from all authors. No changes are allowed after acceptance.
- Author Identification: We encourage use of ORCID IDs when submitting work.
- Deceased/Incapacitated Authors: Including them requires approval from a legal representative.
- Confidentiality: All journal communications should be treated as confidential unless explicit consent is given to share.
- Authorship Disputes: Authors must resolve these themselves. The journal will not investigate or decide such matters.
- AI-Generated Content: AI tools cannot be independent authors. Their use must be transparently described in methods.
- Post-Publication Name Changes: We will update metadata without announcement to protect privacy.
- Journal Staff as Authors: Those involved in manuscript compilation are excluded from editorial decisions on that manuscript.
- Author Ethical Responsibilities: Authors must maintain scientific integrity and respect rejection decisions.
- Error Correction: Authors are obligated to correct significant errors upon discovery.
- Reviewer Suggestions: Authors may suggest independent reviewers with appropriate contact details.

Complaints and Appeals
- General Approach: The Editor-in-Chief or handling editor addresses initial complaints about decisions, delays, or processes.
- Scientific Content Appeals: Editors assess author arguments and reviewer reports to determine if rejections should stand or be reconsidered.
- Process Complaints: The editorial team investigates and provides feedback to improve processes.
- Publication Ethics Complaints: Editors follow COPE guidelines and may seek advice in difficult cases.

Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose all interests that could potentially affect their research. This ensures transparency and helps readers identify potential biases. Disclosures may include:
- Research Support: Grants or other support from interested organizations.
- Employment/Affiliations: Current, past, or expected employment with financial impacts.
- Other Interests: Ownership stakes, patents, non-financial interests like editorial positions or expert witness roles.
Non-financial interests that could bias work should also be disclosed.
